CUNY College Now

On October 24, 2020 by Art & Design PTA

From The College and Career Office:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Art and Design is offering students the opportunity to participate in “College Now” at any CUNY Campus location. Our College Now partner university is Hunter College, located ten blocks north of Art and Design on Park Avenue.

College Now is a collaboration between the City University of New York (CUNY) and the New York City Department of Education. The goal of this collaboration is to introduce high school students of varying skill levels to the rigors and rewards of higher education, primarily, the ability to earn college credit while still in high school. Hunter College frames the experience with formal orientations and support services specially designed for the high school level.

Classes are being held virtually. Course offerings will be available in November.

Please reach out to the College Office, pdoulis@artanddesignhs.org for more information on how to apply.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • ELA Regents 75+/ Math Algebra I or Geometry Regents 70+, Algebra II 65+

  • SAT English 480+ / SAT Math 530+

  • ACT English 20+ / ACT Math 21+

  • PLEASE NOTE that some programs require a GPA of 85 or better (calculated after the completion of 4 semesters of high school)

All NYC Public High School students who meet the requirements participate for free.
